"A Snowy December"

I have a fear.
The fear to drive in the snow,
But today I had work
And I needed to go.

I asked for a ride,
But no one replied.
I laughed to myself and said
"I hope I survive."

I turned on the heat
And wiped the car clean.
Let the journey begin.
I reverse onto the street.

What really frightened me
Was coming to a turn,
And the first turn I took
I felt my car swerve.

My stomach felt sick,
But I realized I'm fine.
I drove in the snow,
And got to work on time.

I was happy to finally
overcome my fear,
But I pray for no more snow
For the rest of the year.

  1. I had to drive to work in the snow as well! I know how you feel, it's very scary. I like that your poem was very simple, but still very clever. I also loved your unique rhyme scheme. Good job! :)

  2. Yea I can see where you're coming from. I was being driven home from the mall when the storm hit bad. My friend almost lost control of his car multiple times. Scary encounter.
